Making April

Since music is probably my premier passion (after economics, of course), I've decided that I'm going to start passing along up-and-coming artist recommendations to my readers. It won't always be obscure bands, but I'd like to use this space as a sounding board for those artists whom I feel deserve a little extra attention.

Recently I've discovered Making April. I can't quite figure out who they sound like, but their lead singer is the key for me; his voice carries a passion and emotional intensity that hits you in the face with every note he sings. Bottom line: he's amazing.

Apparently, they are currently recording their first major album right now, so given that it's supposed to come out sometime this fall/winter, I'd say they are less than a year away from being musical deities. Seriously, I have that much confidence in their sound.

If you've heard of them already, good for you. But if you haven't, check out their MySpace page and give a listen to "These Are The Nights," or anything they have up, really. ("Roses and Butterflies" is my current #2.) Check 'em out.

Haha, I like 'em.

Part of it was because as I tentatively went to their MySpace page, I was shocked to find out it's clean, crisp and has a easy to navigate and read layout! AMAZING.

Haha, they sound to me kind of a...mellow Something Corporate. Er, sort of. But yeah. I like 'em. I want to buy their album now, haha.

You're so MySpace-phobic...I love it! Yes, I must admit, most pages are a mess, but Making April definitely has a nice layout for theirs. Easier on the eyes than most, that's for certain. Maybe they have people like YOU in mind. :)

They are Something Corporate-ish. I think that's a fair assessment. They also sound like a mesh of other emo bands that you are probably not familiar with, but yeah, I'm glad you like them. I think they are pretty solid, and when their debut album comes out, I'm definitely gonna be in line.
