I know it's been a long time since I last posted on here, but there is a reason for that.
I guess the first reason is either that my life has been far more complicated and busy than I'd like to admit, or I've lost interest in the namesake of my blog. Yes, in my heart I am still fascinated by economics, but no longer do I scour the world wide web to find economic content like I used to...not even close.
No, music has again caught my attention, and before it, film. I've decided to change the format of this blog to reflect more of my personal journey in these my formative years. I figure that not only will this be a far more universal appeal, but also something that I can consistently care about.
The past few months in review
The past few months have been odd. I guess the biggest things in my life would be my renewed friendship with an ex, the complicated feelings that arose, and the eventual collapse of that friendship. There are some people in our lives who we feel so interconnected with that it simply hurts to see them and not be a huge part of their life. She is one of those people to me.
I realize in re-reading my last couple of posts that I had mentioned interviewing for an associate buyer position at Amazon in Jewelry...back in mid-October! Well, about a month ago, I was finally hired! I know. Long time, huh? I'm very thankful for my opportunity and plan on staying there as long as I can without burning out. It's a demanding job, but for now, I really like the challenge.
In other news, I bought a new HDTV about two months ago. I had recently bought a nice 5.1 home audio system and wanted to complement it with a new hi-def television. After a TON of research, I settled on the Samsung LN46A650, which is a 46-inch LCD TV that many people would argue (including myself) is the best bang for your buck.
After about a month, however, I decided I wanted BIGGER. Haha, I know, I'm crazy, but with my new job, I decided I could splurge and go bigger. I was so impressed with the picture of my Samsung, I decided to just go one size bigger to the 52-inch screen. I found it for an amazing price on Amazon on Super Bowl Sunday and bought it...funny thing is, now I want a BIGGER TV again.
This time, I'm thinking a Panasonic 58-inch plasma...but we'll see...
And finally, I've rediscovered my music. I decided I really needed to have that creative/artistic outlet in these times and it's been just the ticket. Music is so freeing. It's just one of those things that I love. I bought two new guitars, including my first electric! I've quickly fallen in love with the sound that an electric guitar can make; it's amazing. The acoustic-electric I bought was a Taylor 314CE (and what a deal I got on it!) and the electric was a Gibson Les Paul Traditional in an Ice Tea-burst pattern. I love both my guitars to death.
Well, I plan on writing much more, and more frequently as well, so I'll probably touch on all these subjects again in more detail...until then!
