Long day at the "office"

Wow. An incredible weekend draws to a close. Damn shame. This was probably the best weekend I've had in years.

First, Mal's birthday party was on Friday night and we stayed out and had a ton of fun. Then I went out with Brando, Garth, and Brian in Kirkland on Saturday and had a blast...AGAIN! And then the next night, watched Extract with everyone, which was okay. Not at all what I expected, but still good.

And then today I spend the entire day trying to learn how to lay down just a vocal track and a guitar track. So much harder than it sounds when you're used to feeding off both "instruments" at once. Silencing one is like trying to walk on one leg...just doesn't work for me. But hopefully I'll get better.

I put up a rough cut of the song ("Daniel") on my MySpace page, so please check it out and give me feedback. It's NOT perfect. Not even close. But I spent so much time working on it today that I couldn't leave the day emptyhanded. I just wanted something decent on my page for people to get a proper idea of what I'm about musically.

As soon as I learn how to split vocal and guitar tracks, clean it up, edit and polish it, then I'll take that version down and get something I'm completely happy with up there. As I listen to it more and more, the more I hear the little things I don't like about it that need to be fixed, but oh well.
